Withdrawal symptoms

The Cameron Highlands holiday was too good..too relaxing..too shiokz..
The food..the tea..the strawberry desserts..the weather..
And everything is so slow paced..love it..

I am having withdrawal symptoms now..and work is on tmr..

Btw..sorry Audrey and Huiling..did not buy the things I promised..
Strawberries cannot be kept for long (would spoil by the time I see you all)
And I think you should be joking about the balloon right Audrey?? hahha..

Time to train..

Ran (or rather walked quite a bit) 10km in 1 hr 11 mins..
It's slow!!

My colleague finished her 21km in 2 hrs 13 min..
One of my managers finished her 42km in 5hrs 31 min..
Mitchelle finished her run in 1hr 8 min..

Like what Shi Chang and I discussed..
We must train next yr..
And we are gonna run the full (we want the t shirt)..
Or at least the 21km..

But glad I finished the run with not much difficulty other than a very painful sole..
And it was a good workout since July..
Although the sore legs did trouble me the next 2 days..damn those stairs~

Woah..work is getting real heavy..
I was quite demoralised today..because it all came in at the same time..
The big cases..the tough cases..for this yr all came in late..
And big cases are still coming into my care!!
Looks like I finally have a real peak after 1yr 4mths..
But guess what..I still left at 6 today..
Had to go buy stuff with colleagues for our DnD banner..

I shall start working hard from Monday onwards..

When people wear such jackets / dresses / tops I always think it's nice..
But I won't be able to pull it off haha if I wear them..
So too bad then heh..can only watch cannot wear..

Hari Raya Celebrations

A not so gay drinking session yesterday at brewerkz..
One female colleague joined me and shichang (usually it's 2 of us only) for our adhoc midweek drinks..

Can't believe the amount of crap that was said..
and to make things worse..Desmond (my very crap colleague) joined a while too..
Victims of the night??
A tower of golden ale..2 pints of hotback ale..1 pint of fruitale (for the tall one)
And maybe just a lot of brain cells wasted on meaningless conversations..

It did not help that I had to wake up the next day at 7am for my cousin's wedding..
Tea ceremony..Church ceremony..Wedding dinner..

Anyway..can't help but wonder..if my cousin (a pastor) and his wife were the zhu jiao for the afternoon ceremony..
I bet **s*s was mentioned more often..
It was like a service (I've been to a few) than a wedding..
With preaching and asking ppl to join etc..
I jus thought it's like out of context..and way too much pushing it to us..
Got a little put off though..
But I have nothing against the religion..just that it's very exclusive of others and just tends to "advertise" too much..
Other than that, I must say the people are all nice people..

Time to relax and sleep..

So what did I do at Genting??

1. Sleep in bouts of short hours, never got a good rest.
2. Eat (like damn alot)
3. Bowling (hit my 1st turkey in a lifetime but failed to capitalise to score my highest score)
4. Gamble (should have left when I was winning)
5. Magic show (wow they are damn good..girls becoming white tigers/white lions..heads separating from body..body in 2 parts moving..scary)
6. Spend almost half a day on the bus to and fro

And it's back to work..
and go out..and work..and go out..

Should have bought it when I went to mooncake fair at Taka yest..

Champions!!

It was a tense night..
Faced Chio Lim (quarters)..FK Grant Thornton (semis).. then KPMG (finals)..
All of us played the game of our lives..
We had the luck of our lives..
We needed to win 3 matches out of 5 for each..
We won 3-1, 4-0 and 4-0..as some games finished close to each other..
Man did it feel good~..

Tough day at work..did nothing much..so much time to charge still..
Then headed down for pool competition..
Today EY ladies team playing..
Congrats..we topped the group..although a few scares..
Wednesday will be semis then finals..
Hope they retain the trophy!

A weekend of firsts

1st time at Lunar on Friday night..
Nice place..not too crowded..no wonder my friends like it there haa..
I would say it's better than at Boiler~..
Topped it with bah kut teh supper..a damn long walk I would say..

1st time at night safari on Saturday night..
Wah 50% off for those with coupon = scary amt of people..
Made new friends (not animals) of all ages (<8 and >25)..
Topped it with supper at casuarina prata..
But they closed at 12...so had to eat at another stall..
And while sending people home, I quoted:-
"I think the next time I go night safari is when I have kids"
Haha..many years later manz..

Smacked between the two 1sts is a trip to comex..
Fetched my friends..went to comex..then went to meet other friends for safari..
Can't believe one of my friends never go for an IT fair before..haha..
Time taken to travel in the car = 2hrs
Time at Comex = 35 mins
Things bought = 0
But they do have some good offers..too bad I have ntg to buy..
It was damn crowded though..
And since when refrigerators / vacuum cleaners are considered IT products?

Time to chill on Sunday..although have to be chauffeur for my family later.

No Alcohol Part 1

While playing psp on the way back very near my home..
Friend called me to ask go boat quay drink..
Told her I'm on the way back already..but she said she is too~..asked me consider..
Thoughts ran through my mind..

- Friday Lunar hor..need to rest liver..must go there show power..dun get drunk..
- Very tired also..wan to stay home and rest..den can look good on Friday..
- Already say dun wan drink until Lunar..cannot la if drink will lose seh..

Ok crap obviously the above thoughts never went thru my mind at all..

Went to my house carpark when reached home to check if my Dad's car is back..
No the car and my Dad are not..
Aiyah shit..cannot go liao..
So much for alcohol abstinence..decision made by the non-presence of the car..
But wth..
A win is a win..no matter how u won..haha..

I need a rest

The week that has gone by seems pretty hectic..
Other than Thursday where I was on mc in the afternoon (but only slept 1 hour)..
And I thought today I could rest..until the phone rang again..
Maybe I should go home more often after work next week..

Not so routine 1st half of the week

A decision for a trip to Paris was close..but circumstances din allow..

Dinner at Siam and desserts at MOF (yummy)

A crazy night with Pool in the office lounge (together with olympics on a projector screen and KFC) till 11 plus..and drinks at Boat Quay..

2 naps and waking up thinking it's morning when it's not even bed time..

Sometimes when I look around me or when people tell me abt things..
Then I realise how fortunate that I have a not so complicated life..

Older and Fatter

Was at Paulaners yest..
Drank 1L of Munich Lager..2/3 of the amount of Kilkenny for previous week..
But they have 1 for 1 on Sunday and Mondays..
1 for 1 tower next.. right Shichang haa..

Got my new pass today..
Everybody says I have looked older..
And I have gained weight..
Well..not to say I'm sad abt it cos I look too young and skinny
But at this rate of growth (work 1 yr plus only)
It does not bode well for the future..

Red Cliff

Been staying late at work for the wrong reasons~..
Long lunch due to pool..or pool after working hours for a break and back to office (we have a pool table at our staff lounge)

Then my bro told me it's on crunchyroll..
So there I was watching a movie on a 15" screen

But anyways..
The ending (if you call it one) is damn sudden..
But the sequel is a definite watch..
Too much prelude..the battle only begins in the sequel..
But the jokes in this movie is pretty "cold" hahah...

Did not have much sleep previous days..

And feels like some ppl's attitude have been pretty cold..

Today was appraisal briefing for me..
Getting to know what all the managers and reviewers think of me..
The meeting with my Mentor went quite well..so it's a good day~
Time flies though..almost 1 yr of work..and so much had happened during this time..be it personal or work..
I think I had grown up through this..or at least look at things in different perspectives..
There is still a longgg way to go..so it's only just the beginning..
and I will just try to live life to the fullest~

Recently one of my friends actually prefers to work instead of the weekends..
She says its cos her weekends r either with her bf or family..
And it is actually quite boring..and she also meets her bf on weekdays..
Her bf will also sometimes be unhappy when she meets other friends..
She said her bf is trying to change but his tone still sounded unhappy..

Ok at least i wasn't like that when I was attached..
I was always ok with her meeting other ppl
But maybe we really meet up too often..so it becomes too boring..and she could have felt like what my friend is feeling..
It did not daunt on me until some time later that I guess I myself was feeling abit the same..
It could be cos in the beginning when the relationship was fresh we meet up often as we can't get enough of each other..that it becomes an obligation we meet up often..and it turned out like it did..
But whatever the case..I guess it was an inevitable decision by her..and it could be for the better for both of us..whatever that happens next..we shall see..

Snorkeling was fun..although we got sea sick after the first destination
Beach team building games was fun..until i got bruised and injured
Night card games was fun..but Jack Daniel's was too much for comfort
Tioman was fun..minus the 4hr bus and 2hr ferry
But of cos..with good company..it's always gonna be a good trip

Singapore soccer rocks~

Yeah went to the national stadium to watch Singapore vs Lebanon world cup qualifier with my friends
Man we should have won 5-0 or 6-0..so many chances..but only won 2-0
And it's the best I have seen Singapore play..no more long balls..good passing (but maybe Lebanon was just not good enough..they do not close people down fast)..good creativity..
And the atmosphere was good! (although not many ppl)..We booed a Lebanon player cos he play acted and dived, faking injury..he was booed throughout and was substituted around 60 min..Its so funny whenever he touch the ball all will boo..
Secali Singapore gets into 2010 World Cup..besides..What the government says..the government gets..haha

My JC classmate's dad passed away
so I went to the wake with 5 of my female jc classmates (the guys couldn't make it, and 2 of them went yest)
He just had a sudden lung collapse although his lungs were already weak due to smoking last time..
Well..that's life..cherish it while it lasts

On a separate note, it's interesting what girls talk abt when there are many of them. I could just sit and listen over dinner, dessert, supper, and just make occasional comments..congrats to Cindy for going ROM!

Today after waking up, I can look down or left but only to a certain extent.

Me: Yes

OS: I received your faxed mc, and we can only exempt you from mobilisation until 14 March as your mc is only until then, unless you extend your mc.

Me: But I have chicken pox, if I go outside will be contagious. And the doctor said he will assess on Monday (17 March) if I need extended mc.

OS: Ya, we understand and we are trying our best to help you but we can't.

Me:(Yeah right I bet you din even try).

OS: Anyway it's very simple, when mobilised, just bring all your stuff and go down to camp to sign and half hour will be done.

Me:(And get everyone infected. Yeah. And I have been thru it once, it takes a few hours becos not everybody is prompt in going back, still trying to bluff me. I may be sick but not stupid)

OS: So unless you extend your mc, we cannot exempt you.

Me: Ok. Thanks.

And so I went with my dad to extend my mc at a clinic near my house (hope I din get anybody infected, but people were looking at me like I'm an alien. I had no choice but to go as the doctor asked me to after my dad tried to get it extended). Had to tell the doc I work on Saturday so that the mc covers 15 March which is the likely (99% confirmed per the bigger people in my unit) mobilisation date. He gave me another week! Till 22 March (the doc believed I had to work on Saturday).

But I am quite well. See if Monday I can go back to work, too much work to be done. I may be slack, but I am responsible hahaha.

My parents ordered KFC for their lunch
I was half awake when it arrived

Scrreecchh...Hornnnn...Crashh (quite a loud one)
Being a naturally kaypoh Singaporean I woke up immediately

The delivery man got bang by a car just as he was exiting to the main road below our flat
Luckily he could still move, albeit with difficulty
But the police and ambulance still had to come..
and i stopped being a "kaypoh" (my dad actually used his camera to take a photo of the scene, din know he also like that)

Even to my neighbourhood coffeeshop (so that I can buy soccer bets but if I go I will be a major chicken pox spreader considering the amt of people buying 4d every weekend)

But here I am, eating porridge, surfing chicken pox data, even reading up on palmistry, playing wahjong, surfing sites I have been to many times already, staring at my laptop, blogging

Slept too much..12am to 2pm..4pm-7pm..830pm-1130pm..
Dunno why, I just keep feeling tired

Viknesh told me the face ones dry faster, which is good as I do not want my face to have anymore pox when I go back to work

My mum got the jab from the doctor, and the doctor says although it wont be 100%, it will reduce the chicken pox should it occur

Supposed to be getting a face cream but my parents got another calamine lotion (but with menthol), supposedly for the face. I think it's just cooler? since it has menthol. Shall use it anyway if I need to.

3rd day of full blown pox

My face ones are drying faster than the body ones,
anybody tell me if it's normal?
I still have to use my face to chi(1) fan(4) leh haha..
My mum will be going to see doc tonight, asked her to help me get the special cream for my face,

Been playing online mahjong at www.viwawa.com --> Fun leh a lot of games, super appropriate for someone like me with no company now haha. But for those who has a life now, do not get addicted to this site, it makes one become no life.

Tried to get my mum to go see doc cos she is not sure whether she had it before,
Researched and it seems that if you get a jab or eat some medicine before it starts, it will greatly reduce effects,
As usual she finds some excuses not to go today, told her it could be fatal at her age, and if I am experiencing so much discomfort, she will get it worse definately,
I better make sure she goes to the doctor by tomorrow or Saturday.

She just felt restricted / suffocated by our relationship..

Back!!

Back from a crazy / crappy / tiring / rainy / delicious / relaxing / nonsensical trip from Malacca..
How the 6 of us colleagues are so crappy and are on the same wavelength is amazing..but the food was good..the massage was good..the stay was good..
but although we did alot of shopping..i only bought a mini mahjong set (28RM), a tie (5RM : I'm not gonna say which one issit)..sunglasses (10RM)..and food stuffs..I just cant find a nice shoe..a nice bag!!..
Will post some delicious food pictures in my next post~

On a separate note..
the trips north and south set me thinking alot..
Even though I had put in alot in the relationship..it was a disappointment in the end..
She ended up letting her feelings affected by someone else (although she said she wanted a single life but I will not be surprised if she gets attached again soon)
Maybe I had put in too much and it stresses her..or like my dad said jus now when I told my parents wat happened..we met up too many times so it kinda kills off the freshness..
Whateva..it's all over..Her life is hers now and my life is mine..I am not gonna be affected by the memories..even if they do come..its jus memories..nothing else..
I am not gonna care wat happens in her life..only to the extent of a friend type of concern..
I am gonna jus enjoy myself without worrying for anyone else..till of cos the next girl comes..

The lingering feeling is gone..Life will go on..

Had a chat with her just now..
realised that she will most likely not be able to come back to me and be like before..
I noe how she feels..I felt the same way some years back to my 1st gf..
So I've decided to let go..and let both of us move on..
We are still young, long way to go..

Cant blive I actually went arcade with 2 male colleagues after dinner..

it was fun though..and its the first time since we started work we actually went out together after work..well everything has its firsts..

Evening came..I could not resist..and so I messaged her abt smtg which we both know happened today..it was a few sms interchanged..and thats about it..but i was happy..it felt like how it was before..but reality sank in..

When I reached home..I emailed her..reminded her to cancel her weekend driving if she is not going as I had always helped her last time..I had wanted to just let it be..but the images of her realising she forgot..and losing her hard earned money..jus made me soften

Im glad I wasnt alone much today...as I had my colleagues in the day..and my ex-senior whom I never met for some time who went with me for dinner..it was an enjoyable dinner and it was nice chatting so much..abt almost everything..you are still as nice as before..and hope you and your bf stay happy...

But here I am again..alone in my room..

Went back to work today..after staying at home the whole day yesterday (it was horrible)
